GROUP PROJECT (2013-14)

GROUPS-
Group 1- Nidhi Ashutosh and Purvik (group leader- Nidhi)
Group 2- Hetvi, Alok and Satyen (group leader- Hetvi)
Group 3- Dhruta, Aditya, Krushnaraj and Harsh. (group leader- Dhruta)

Student select any two areas/localities of rajkot that according to you is polluted in terms of Air, water or soil.- (One location has to be industrial area) Please get the area that you select approved before 28th Oct. 2013. Eg. GIDC, Sapar,  etc
You have to choose any two pollutions (air, water and soil) for each area.  One of it has to be soil or water pollution. (you will be performing soil or water analysis as per your selection)

WHAT IS TO BE DONE.......
  1. Find the cause of the pollution in the area selected.
  2. Find out the methods by which it can be detected.
  3. Find how is this affecting the - environment and people living in the area
  4. List down how can you create awareness for preventing it.

PRODUCTS
  1. Group- posters that can be put up in the areas to create awareness about pollution rise. (check out the site http://visual.ly)
  2. All groups together- movie showing how the project was carried out. (for the presentation)
  3. Individual- Give the write up in the form of a news paper article. (1000 words)

Evidences to be given-
  1. Pictures/videos of the group members in the area selected. (Pictures/ videos without any group member will not be accepted)
  2. Group members interacting/interviewing people of the area to find out the effects of the pollution (how was the situation 5 to 6 years ago and what are the changes seen now, problems faced by the people etc.)
  3. Industrial area- visiting the industries to find out what measures have been taken to control pollution.
IMPORTANT DATES
28th Oct - Area selected and the pollution
18th to 20th Nov- 1st sample for testing
23rd Nov- 1st Formative assessment (water, air and soil pollution)
First draft - The readings of the first sample and other work carried out by the group

2nd week of Dec- Summative assessment (Unit test 2)
18th Dec- 2nd Draft of the work completed
21st Dec- Mock presentation (movie)
27th Dec- Final presentation in AV4
